Carn Glavern near Zennor, and Roche Rock near Bodmin.

The Saints & Tinners 300Km Audax, organised by Audax Kernow.
The day began at Bodmin Scout Hall, 0600 Sunday 6th June.
Only a handful at the start

James Tinsley
The first section was up and down some delightful country lanes following The Saints Way.
I've toured Cornwall extensively but there were many roads I'd never been on.
I was riding along chatting to James Tinsley, we rounded a couple of corners, and then the Pixies took him. He was gone and I never saw him again!

Deserted country lanes - the Saints Way

Ian Weatherill is attacked by a Giant Trifid,
escaped from the Eden Project.

Customary stop to allow cattle to cross,
and the sheepdog to round us up!.
After a few uncertainties, and a few stops to check the map, almost
everyone seemed to get lost
somewhere between Bodmin and St.Agnes, the first checkpoint.
On arrival there it was very close
to the closing time for the control,
a bit early in the ride for that sort of thing!
Several stopped at the shops in St. Agnes to stock up for the next haul, which was along the North Cornwall coast to St. Ives Bay.
Clay pits in the distance.
Passing the impressive ruin at Roche Rock.
St Agnes Control at last. Only 55Km but we're almost out of time!
