![]() Tired and damp, time for a quick kip near Wadebridge, before the final run of hills to Bodmin. |

We
headed for the cover of the supremarket and stocked up with some prepared
food. I found a chicken pasta meal which was was ideal.

We
bade farewell to Dave and Anne, and dropped down through the city and
out on the back road to Tresillion. it was getting very dark and wet.

The
route finding in the dark and rain through Grampound was slow going. We
found the info control, but arrived at the St.Austell control with about

![]() A welcoming meal at the finish. |
The
long haul out of St.Austell was horrible. The drag went on for ever, and
it was very misty with thick drizzle headind towards Padstow. I was struggling
to stay awake despite the rain! At Padstow the control told us to take
a direct route back to Bodmin. The rain had made the road through the
back roads treacherous, so we were happy to oblige.
A couple of stops for food and a power nap in a bus shelter and we were on our way, very tight for time but at just after 3am we slogged up the final hill and saw a faint torch directing us to the HQ. We were last home but just in time, and Don soon rusteld up a meal before we hit the luxury of a blanket on the hall floor! |
