After refreshments at Carteret, with about 50K done, it was time to climb back inland, and head South through the rain to Periers.

Periers always seems deserted on arrival, but there is obviously sufficient passing trade to keep the various street Bar-B-Ques and market stalls going.

Grouped at the start in Cherbourg, ready for off.
Various lunch options, some in the bar, some at the Patisserie, Bar-B-Que, and others chose a sit doen meal, opting to catch up later.

From here the route retraced for a few miles, and then took us through fine countryside towards the east coats of the Cherbourg peninsula.
